Rawlin "RL" Tate, Jr.
Rawlin Lee Tate, Jr. (RL), is a 13 year old rising 8th grader at Woodland Middle School in Henry County. In the words of his teacher, “he has an extremely strong work ethic, extraordinary leadership skills, and is a positive influence on students who need guidance, willingly serving as a strong influence for other students who need a positive peer role model”. As a gifted student, earning yearly “President’s List” recognition as a “straight A” achiever since first grade, R.L. continues to glorify the Lord through his endless scholastic accomplishments to include: 1st place award-winning performance in regional, county and school-wide poetry recitation and writing competitions; a fierce Reading Bowl competitor; a National Beta Club member; and a 2nd year oboe player - serving as section leader and student band conductor, earning the distinction as a Superior-rated soloist at the Solo/Ensemble Festival. Yea R.L.! R.L. attends the Temple of Prayer United Church of God in Christ, where he enjoys learning about the Lord, sings in the youth and male choirs, and actively participates in the Children’s and Media ministries. He has completed his 2nd year as a singer in the Spivey Hall Children’s Choir at Clayton State University. R.L. has been receiving formal piano instruction from Ms. Beatles since he was four years old, and his continued mastery of this discipline has won him the Most Outstanding Eagle Award in 2007 and 2013, Top Performer Award for 5 consecutive years since 2007, and the People’s Choice Award for 2012 and 2013! You go boy! R.L. is an avid reader and soccer-football-baseball player, and he enjoys electronics, and competing in track discus and shot-put field events. R.L. is the son of proud parents, Rawlin and Marion Tate, and loving brother of Camielle.
RPM 2014 Most Outstanding
Camille Elise Trotman is a well-versed, bright and active young lady who loves the Lord and is grateful for the many gifts He has bestowed upon her. As an honor roll student, Camille thrives inside and outside of the classroom. In 2012, she received the Silver Pen Award and the Presidential Fitness Award. In 2013, she was a member of Honor Chorus and received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, the Most Outstanding Art student Award, and the Most Outstanding Music Student Award. She is a member of the Tapp Middle School 6th grade chorus (where she was selected to sing in the 6th grade Honor Chorus) and the 6th grade orchestra. She is also a member of the Student Council and earned the honors to be a part of the million word club. Camille is an eight time All-American in Track and Field (honors earned during the 2011, 2012, 2013 National Championships and Junior Olympic games as a member of the Boys and Girls Track Club). Camille is a proud member of A Chosen Generation at Connection Point Church and Junior Girl Scout Troop #2134. In addition to playing the piano, Miss Trotman enjoys reading, singing, drawing, running, cooking, playing games, writing, and watching movies. Camille has performed in dramatizations and performed community service with Connection Point Church, RPM Studio and her girl scout troop. Camille, who is a dedicated and active member of the youth ministry at CPC, has used her piano training to accompany A Chosen Generation youth choir at CPC. Camille also demonstrates exceptional leadership skills, both academically and socially and is looking forward to what God has in store for her! A special thank you to Grammi (Jacqueline Frazier Smith) for helping Camille with her recital piece during her 'busy' season. This is Camille's eighth piano recital.
Jalen Marquis Oglivie, is a fantastic 11 year old boy who has been playing the piano for five and a half years. The 2014 19th annual RPM recital is his sixth. Jalen is a loving, bright and caring child who maintains good grades. Jalen participates in Duke TIP (Talent Identification Program). He recently graduated from Riverside Intermediate school where he was a member of B-HYPE (Boys Honor Youth Program of Excellence) . Jalen will be attending Campbell Middle School this fall, where he will be entering the sixth grade and looks forward to joining the Elite Gentleman’s club. He attends Camp Creek Church of Christ where he was baptized into the body of Christ Feb. 5, 2014. Jalen is active in bible class and vacation bible school. He enjoys church, reading, video games and playing tennis.
